The UPC Kahuku Wind Power project is building on Hawaii’s longstanding tradition of self-sufficiency, capturing the natural wind resource to provide a renewable and local energy solution. As proposed, UPC Kahuku Wind Power would consist of 12 state-of-the-art wind turbines that would produce 30 MW of clean power for the island, provide a variety of economic and environmental benefits to the area, and increase Hawaii’s energy independence.
The UPC Kahuku Wind Power team is currently meeting with community members, organizations, and institutions to discuss the benefits of wind energy for the state of Hawaii and to the Kahuku community. We welcome your participation in this dialogue.
